Cabo Frio
Cabo Frio is one of the main tourist attractions in Brazil. The scenario of its
beautiful beaches is formed by clear waters, fine white sand, dunes, islands of
rare beauty, coves and salt beds, in other words, everything for all tastes.
With one of the best infrastructures on the Costa do Sol, the city of Cabo Frio is
14 km from Arraial do Cabo and 148 km from Rio de Janeiro (through highway
BR-101, followed by RJ-124 and RJ-140)
It has some of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil: the Praia do Forte (Fort
Beach), the most famous within the entire Região dos Lagos (Lakes Region), has
an unparalleled beauty, presenting tourists with its white sands and its crystal
clear waters that are displayed in greenish tones and clear blue, leaving anyone
impressed. On this beach we can also consider the Forte São Mateus, a historic
monument situated to the left side of the beach, which during the colonial
period had defended the region’s coast from pirates and foreign invasions.
