Wonderful Cities

Welcome to the State of Rio de Janeiro
TurisRio, the State of Rio de Janeiro Tourism Authority, linked to the Tourism State Secretariat, invites you to enjoy the charm of our wonderful cities. Nowhere in the world, you will find such fascinating places - so diverse and so close to each other.

Paty do Alferes

Paty do Alferes has tourist attractions that are icons of the economic power exerted by the city at the time of the coffee period. Among them are the Fazenda Pau Grande (Pau Grande Ranch), one of the most beautiful farms in Brazil, which was a scenario for soap operas and the old Fazenda Freguesia (Freguesia Ranch), transformed into the Centro Cultural Aldeia de Arcozelo (Arcozelo Village Cultural Center). Another tip is to visit the Museu da Cachaça (Cachaça Museum), where you can unveil a part of the history of this drink and taste some. During the Corpus Christi holiday, the Festa do Tomate (Tomato Festival) is one of the most crowded events in the region.
